As we are preparing for our trip we have experienced so many different emotions. God has been so faithful in providing for this trip but there have been some difficulties as well.
But first, we wanted to share a little bit about a docuseries we have been watching. It’s called Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland and it’s available on PBS. It’s about a 30 year event called the Troubles. Some of you may remember when this was happening because it ended in the 90s. We are learning so much about what has caused religious division in Ireland through this series. It was mostly in Northern Ireland but it did hit Dublin (where we will be) as well. If you are interested in learning more about Dublin’s history, we encourage you to go watch it (although we should warn you, it can be difficult to watch at times).
As far as our trip goes, we are getting really excited. We have been filling out paperwork, signing releases, and meeting with people from Encompass for training and planning. Our trip did get extended by a couple days as well. We will now be traveling for 19 days instead of 17 days because of some savings we took advantage of in our flight budget. There are some things you can be praying for us about as we get closer to the trip.
God has been so faithful and we are almost fully funded. We are $700 away from our goal. Please pray for the final cost to be provided.
Patrick’s job has gone back and forth about whether or not he will have a job when we come back. Earlier today he was told that he will technically be terminated with the possibility of rehire. This means we will lose our health insurance so we are looking into other options for coverage. Please pray for Patrick’s job opportunities as well as for being able to get coverage for the time away as well as after coming back.
Pray for our hearts as we prepare to go. Pray that we can be grounded in Jesus and stand firm against the enemy.
Finally, we ask that you celebrate with us because God has been providing for us in ways so far beyond what we expected. We are so thankful to see his hand in all of this!!
